Althea Moses competed in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, GA--the last time it was in the USA. 

She made Olympic history in those Games because it was the first time the women's triple-jump was a medaled event for women. Prior to the 1996 Olympic Games, Althea won a gold medal and broke the record (40 feet 1 1/2 inches) in the Jr. Olympics. Althea also won the triple-jump (in the 1988 California State Championships, and earned a UCLA scholarship-athlete. Personal best triple-jump is 42 feet 8 3/4 inches. Althea published #1 best-selling book, Irresistibly Fit. Today, Althea trains and coaches high school track athletes and adults.
